I got my first CNC mill on 12-15-06. I had to rent a 5000lb fork lift and enlist the help of my frind Paul to get it into the garage. Paul has worked as a CNC repair guy for a long time, so it was no trouble for him to help me remove the head and motor to fit it under the garage door.

The mill is a Hurco KMB1 retrofitted with a 2000 line encoders and an Ajax controller. The controller also controls spindle speed throug the VFD. My friend Tim did the upgrade and was using it for his busness, but he outgrew it and bought a brand new Hurco VM1. The mill uses Kwik Switch 200 tooling. The mill has the conversational programming pacage and DXF import, it's almost too easy. Those programs don't seem to really handle 3D contouring too well though, so I will probably learn G-code anyways.
