HONEYWELL ENGINEERS CLUB is pleased to present Jim Porter speaking on "Honeywell
and AlliedSignal Merger" .
Jim will present information on the broad level of activity currently underway to
combine the Honeywell and AlliedSignal Organizations. Some of the topics will include:
*Merger Approval Overview -- and update on the merger progress.
*New strengths and Opportunities with combined Honeywell and AlliedSignal Organization.
*Six Sigma Quality Efforts -- discussion of the effects six sigma will have on the new
organization.
*AlliedSignal Business information -- information on the current AlliedSignal organization
*$250 million first year and $500 million year 2002 savings goals -- discussion of the new
savings goals.
*Replacement of the Honeywell Savings and Stock Ownership Plan with the AlliedSignal
Savings programs -- discussion of the replacement of the current Honeywell 401(k) plan.
*Honeywell Employee Stock Purchase Plan -- termination of the plan upon completion of the
merger.
*Future benefits packages -- choices to remain with the current Honeywell Retirement
Benefits plan and retain retiree medical coverage or move to a new total retirement
package.
Jim Porter is currently Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for Honeywell. Jim Porter is responsible for human resources, corporate communications, government, and community affairs, security, environment, health and safety and corporate real estate and facilities.
Jim earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Health/Safety and Business Administration from Northwest Missouri State University , and has completed the Harvard Executive Management Program. Jim has also served as the Chairman of the Washington State Human Services Advisory Board in Seattle. He is currently a member of the Board of Advisors of the University of St. Thomas Graduate School of Business, the Greater Minneapolis Metropolitan Housing Corporation Board of Directors and a member of the Board of Trustees for the national committee for Economic Development.
